Transparent OLED

Gizmodo reports that German scientists have created transparent organic light-emitting-diodes or OLEDs. I guess we are one step closer to having those cool computer displays from Minority Report.

It looks like someone has already tried to do that, but with a decidedly (deci deci decided stop) less high tech approach.

Bugs Bunny - Uncensored

Courtesy of Screenhead, check out what the censors are afraid will poison our youth. The 1953 short Southern Fried Rabbit featuring Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam.

I personally grew up with Warner Brothers cartoons and I got the edited versions then too. It would have been interesting to live in a time when cartoons were played at the movie theatre before the main feature. Now we just get commercials (since that's the only place we can't use the remote the skip them).

The CMPAA isn't taking this lying down, however. The commercials that is, not the Bugs censorship.

Entertaible

This looks very cool! The Entertaible by Philips Research Technologies is a 30-inch touch-screen which lays flat on the table to serve as a platform for playing traditional board games.

I hope tradional boardgame companies get behind this. This would work great with games that are very fiddly.

Gizmodo covered this at CES and has a link to a video demonstration.

Experimental Gameplay Project

Experimental Gameplay Project is a unique concept launched by Carnegie Mellon University for the rapid prototyping of new forms of gameplay.

I especially liked Attack of the Swarm and Tower of Goo.
